Roy Bogrand was the head coach in 1973 and then Steve Harshman took over and coached the Bengals from 1974 to 1980. The Pierce County Bengals have been successful over the years, winning the Northwest International championship from 1974 to 1977. In addition to coaching, Harshman was also successful as a player. He was all league five straight years, from 1976 to 1980.
