A ping pong trophy, from the personal collection of Paul Lucien, was awarded to Lucien for winning the 40A Singles Ping Pong Championship by Dodge Trophies of Los Angeles, California. Lucien, who was born in Tacoma in 1919, graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937 and attended the College of Puget Sound after WWII. Lucien’s coordination was proficient from early on as he played table tennis from 1930-2006 — collecting 22 trophies. He won the Pierce County singles championship in 1940, the 1944 American Red Cross Championship in Plymouth, England, College of Puget Sound title in 1948 and the singles table tennis championship in the Tacoma area five straight years (1953-58).Lexicon
