Description

A wooden sign with the words ‘Midget Auto Races/Athletic Park/Every Fri Nite’ was one of many displayed at various courses throughout the Northwest. The sign was part of a collection donated by Bill Seidelman. Seidelman was a riding mechanic in auto racing in the 1920s then started building midget cars in the 1930s. Seidelmnan’s son, Bill Jr., established Seidelman Racing Enterprises in 1952 where he raced and built midget cars for people across the Pacific Northwest. Seidelman was a longtime member of the Western Racing Association, Washington Midget Racing Association, Untied States Auto Club, West Coast Vintage Racers and was a Hall of Fame member of the Golden Wheels, a vintage racing fraternity.
