Description

AJ Zapp wore this helmet when he hit an out-of-the-park home run for the Tacoma Rainiers on Sept. 1, 2004. Zapp, who autographed the brim of the helmet, was a first-round draft pick right out of high school by the Atlanta Braves in 1996. He batted .524 with 16 home runs his senior year in high school in Greenwood, Indiana. But he struggled with injuries in the minor leagues and never reached the major leagues, retiring in 2007 after playing in the minor leagues for three different franchises – the Atlanta Braves, the Seattle Mariners and the Cincinnati Reds.
