Description

Andrea Geubelle, a Curtis High School graduate, competed in track and field for the Vikings who went on to the University of Kansas. Geubelle, seen competing in the long jump for Kansas at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, was a three-time champion in high school in the long jump, triple jump and 100-meter race. Geubelle won the long jump at the 2008 AAU Junior Olympic Games and at the 2009 Nike Outdoor Nationals, she won gold medals in the long and triple jump. In 2013, Geubelle was ranked as America’s top female triple jumper. She won the national title in 2013 in both events and, at 20-years-old, she finished third in the 2012 Olympic Trials. She made the Olympic team for the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and was as three-time NCAA champion at Kansas. In 2012, Geubelle was named a Dick Hannula Amateur Athlete of the Year.
