On a sunny day back in the 1940s, four women on skies wearing shorts pose for a picture near Camp Muir with Little Tahoma in the background. Two of the women are identified. Nancy Rodman is on the left and Jane Creswell Howe is on the right. Chuck Howe donated the photo. For several years during the 1930s and 1940s, there was a ski race from Camp Muir at 10,180 feet to Paradise at 5,400 feet. They'd reach speeds of 60 miles an hour. At 11,138 feet, Little Tahoma is the third tallest peak in Washington and is considered a moderate alpine climb but is not climbed often because most climbers choose to climb Mount Rainier.Made/Created
