The 1950 ski team at the College of Puget Sound line up for a photo taken at Chinook-Cayuse Pass back in the spring of 1950. From left to the right, the skiers on the team were: Clint Gossard, John Boejel, Chuck Jorgenson, Weldon Howe and Chuck Howe, who were brothers. Cayuse Pass connects to Chinook Pass and White Pass on the east side of Mount Rainier. The Cayuse Pass summit is at 4,675 feet high and is at the junction of the state routes 123 and 410. Chinook and Cayuse passes provide skiers and hikers two scenic routes through the Cascade Mountain Range at Mount Rainier National Park. Chuck Howe donated this photo.
