Description

Miriam Smith Greenwood wore this warm-up jacket on the USA Swim Team’s 1977 trip to the Soviet Union. At the time Smith was on the Wilson High School swim team and a member of the Tacoma Swim Club. Smith Greenwood was a 1976 Olympian at the Montreal Games in the 200-meter backstroke and went on to captain the USC swim team in 1980. She won the NCAA national championship in the 100 backstroke. During her prep career, Smith earned All-American honors and won four 100 backstroke titles and was a national high school finalist from 1973-1976 in the 100 and 200 backstrokes.
