Description

This is a jacket from the 1978 Tacoma Yankees, the only season in Tacoma for the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Among the notable players on Tacoma's roster that season were pitcher Jim Beattie, who went on to become general manager and vice president of the Montreal Expos from 1995-2001 and co-GM of the Baltimore Orioles from 2003-05, and catcher Jerry Narron, who went on to manage the Texas Rangers (2001-02) and Cincinnati Reds (2005-07). Both played for the Seattle Mariners, Beattie from 1980-96 and Narron from 1980-81, 1987.
