Description

Several skiers ski down the slopes at Alta Vista on Paradise Valley at Mount Rainier back in 1936. Alta Vista Loop is one of the trails located at Paradise that is popular for its beautiful meadows of wildflowers during the summer and dramatic panoramic snowy views of Mount Rainier during the winter. Over the years, Mount Rainier has been a popular place for winter activities where people can downhill ski, cross country ski, snowshoe and tube. It's a snowy place. Paradise averages 645 inches of snow a year. In 1972, Mount Rainier set a world record for snowfall with 1,122 inches. During the summer when the snow melts off, Paradise becomes a beautiful flower covered slope, a perfect destination for hikers.
