Description

Ken Syverson, the skier on the right in the white jacket, skies down the slopes at Paradise back in the 1920s. Syverson was a certified ski instructor. A skier in the middle watches Syverson and another skier comes down the slopes. Mount Rainier is a special place for people who love skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tubing. In the winter of 1971-72, Mount Rainier set a world record for snowfall when 1,122 inches of snow fell. Paradise averages 643 inches of snow a year.
