This is a pair of ice skates worn by Dick Milford when he played for the Tacoma Rockets of the Pacific Coast Hockey League from 1946-50.
Milford, a right-handed center, was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, served in the Canadian Army for 4 ½ years before his hockey career brought him to the Seattle/Tacoma area.
He started his local career with the Seattle Ironmen in 1945 before joining the Rockets.
His best season was in 1947-48 when Milford recorded 33 goals and 38 assists in 61 games.
In 11 playoff games for the Rockets, Milford has two goals and four assists in 11 games.
Milford compiled 99 goals and 125 assists in 189 games with the Rockets.
Milford went on to have a successful fastpitch softball career, namely with the Irwin-Jones Dodgers.
