Description

Chuck Congdon, who was the golf pro at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club from 1935 to 1965, used this golf club back in the 1940s. Today, the award given to the top amateur golfer in the Hudson Cup Matches that are held by the Pacific Northwest Section of the PGA is called the Charles Congdon Award. Congdon won the Pacific Northwest PGA championship six times over a 27-year period, winning it in 1936, 1938, 1947, 1950, 1952 and 1963. Congdon played a key role in forming the Pacific Northwest Section PGA and served as president over that association three terms. He was also the vice president of the PGA of America from 1955 to 1957.
