Here is a black-and-white photo taken in 1936 of the Cammarano Brothers basketball team. They have “Double Cola” on their shirts. The Cammarano Brothers team of 1936 was a successful semi-pro team. From L-R.: Pete Davis, Joe Salatino, Les Colbo, Bob Houston, Forrest Weingard, Hugh Kraft, Frank Ruffo. Salatino was an all-around athlete, playing basketball and baseball. Salatino played college baseball at the University of Santa Clara and he was inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 1959 for baseball and football. Ruffo was an outstanding football player and was inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports in 1964 for football. He was the Tacoma Athletic Commissioner in 1972. A lot of these players in this photo also played on the Cammarano Brothers baseball team in 1936 and was a successful semi-pro team in Tacoma.
