Description

In his most renowned fight he officiated, Jim Rondeau is pictured here refereeing the Kenny Norton, George Foreman world heavyweight championship fight in Caracas, Venezuela in 1974. In a controversial request, Foreman had asked for an English speaking referee prior to the fight and Rondeau was selected. Foreman's request led to a dispute between the American and Venezuelan boxing representatives and minutes before the bell ran the argument was settled and Rondeau entered the ring. It took Foreman just two rounds to win the fight against Kenny Norton.
