Milt Woodard, shown with New York Jets running back Matt Snell, not only attended the College of Puget Sound but later was a major financial donor to the college and inducted into its Hall of Fame in 1993. Woodard was a 1930 graduate of Stadium High school and was an original founder of the American Football League. He was its assistant commissioner from 1960-66 and president from 1966-70. During his time as president in 1968 when the New York Jets upset the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, Woodard earned a Super Bowl ring. Before joining the ranks of professional football, Woodard was a sportswriter in Chicago and later became the executive Vice President of the Western Golf Association.
