Milt Woodard, left, speaks as Ron Mix, who played tackle for the San Diego Chargers, listens during an NFL game. Woodard was a 1930 graduate of Stadium High school and was an original founder of the American Football League. He was its assistant commissioner from 1960-66 and president from 1966-70. It was during his time as president in 1968 when the New York Jets upset the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, and Woodard earned a Super Bowl ring. Before joining the ranks of professional football, Woodard was a sportswriter in Chicago and later became the executive Vice President of the Western Golf Association.
