Description

Eagle Peak (left) and tree-covered Mount Tum Tum (right) are visible from the snowy slopes at Paradise, where skiers once flocked to play on the slopes. Located in Mount Rainier National Park, Paradise was home to temporary rope tows from the 1930s to 1950s. On Dec. 5, 1937, the opening of the rope tows drew more than 2,300 skiers to Paradise.
