With Paradise Inn as a backdrop, two skiers cut through the snow on a bright and clear afternoon after a heavy snowfall. In 1917 Paradise Inn opened and in 1936 a ski rope tow was installed, making it a popular destination for skiers. During World War II, the Paradise Inn was used to house troops training for winter mountain conditions. Paradise Inn is at 5,500 feet on the side of the 14.400-foot high Mount Rainier and the hotel averages about 700 inches of snow a year.Made/Created
