Two skiers pause for a photo of them skiing down the steep and snowy roof of Paradise Inn. Paradise is a year-around attraction, drawing hikers during the summer to hike through the valley hillside filled with flowers and then during the winter when the slopes are covered by snow. Paradise, which was built in 1916 and opened in 1917, averages about 700-inches of snow a year. In 1936, a rope tow for skiers at Paradise was built. The photo was donated by Merit Cookingham.Made/Created
