Description

Mount Rainier, seen here during summertime, has long been a hub for Pierce County recreation. Climbers, skiers, hikers, snowshoers, road cyclists and others flock to the 14,411-foot peak. Mount Rainier was designated a National Park in 1899. Park records attendance records date back to 1967, when 1.8 million people visited Rainier. In 2018, nearly 2.3 million people visited.
