Ken Syverson leads a group of skiers down a slope above Paradise on Mount Rainier, teaching them how to ski. In the 1940s, Syverson started a ski school and taught people how to ski on the slopes above Paradise and also on Snoqualmie Pass. Syverson became the first ski school director at Paradise in 1936 and was known as one of the best ski instructors in the Northwest. Syverson died in 1972 and shortly after his death the Ken Syverson instructor award of the year was presented to the top ski instructors in the Northwest.Made/Created
