Ken Syverson deftly maneuvers along the slopes at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park. Syverson was a talented skier who was the lead instructor at Hyak on Snoqualmie Pass in the late 1930s and ‘40s. Syverson was an assistant under Otto Lang (who opened the first ski school at Mount Rainier in the 1930s) and become one of the Northwest’s most respected instructors.Lexicon
