Description

A skier makes his way down a slalom course on the east side of Alta Vista, a small hill above Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park. Ski trips to the area are documented as far back as the early 1900s, but a rope tow lift wasn’t installed until 1937. Numerous races were staged in the area before the ski area closed down and Crystal Mountain opened just outside the park in 1962.
