Description

From Pinnacle Saddle, the south side of Mount Rainier is an epic sight. With Paradise located at about 5,400 feet, Rainier’s south face has long been the national park’s most popular destinations. The 14,411-foot peak’s gentlest slopes are found on the south side, making it a perfect destination for skiers, snowshoers and sledders. Park records for visitation date back to 1967, when 1.8 million people visited Rainier. In 2018, the park received nearly 2.3 million visitors. The number of vehicles visiting the park nearly doubled during that time.
