Description

Carleton Wiegel catches air while skiing at Mount Rainier National Park. Weigel, a talented skier, competed in the first Silver Skis race at Rainier in 1934. Sixty skiers started, 44 finished and one broke his jaw during the mass-start race from Camp Muir to Paradise. Wiegel finished second, edged out by U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Famer Don Fraser.
