Tom Harmon, the 1940 Heisman Trophy winner as a halfback for the University of Michigan, autographed his picture address to the T.A.C. (Tacoma Athletic Commission). Harmon was the guest speaker at TAC's inaugural Sports Hall of Fame ceremony on February 28, 1957. Harmon was a consensus All-American in 1939 and 1940 for the Wolverines and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1954. Harmon was the play-by-play announcer for the first televised Rose Bowl Game in 1952 between Stanford and Illinois.
