Description

The 1940 Seattle Rainiers, managed by Jack Lelivelt, won the Pacific Coast League championship with a 4-1 series victory over the Los Angeles Angels, their second during a three-year run. Among the players on the roster were outfielder Edo Vanni, who went on to become general manager of the Seattle Angels and director of group ticket sales for the Seattle Pilots.
