Description

Jerry Geehan, left, was Tacoma’s first play-by-play announcer. In this image, Geehan interviews UW and Olympic rowing-coach Al Ulbrickson for Tacoma’s KVI. Geehan graduated from Lincoln High in 1930 and was working at KVI after two years at the College of Puget Sound. He is credited with giving Tacoma broadcasters Clay Huntington, Doug McArthur, Bob Robertson, Art Popham and others their start.
