This is a black-and-white photo of the Jerry Geehan Night at the Ballpark, which was a regular event. Geehan, who graduated from Lincoln High school in 1930, was considered to be the dean of radio sports broadcasting in the Tacoma area. After attending the College of Puget Sound for two years, Geehan began broadcasting at KVI Radio in 1932. In 1937, he became the first broadcaster of the Tacoma Tigers baseball games. In 1938, he joined KMO Radio and had a daily sportscast show and did play-by-play for the Pacific Lutheran College and the College of Puget Sound games. Later, he was owner and general manager of KTAC Radio from 1952-69. He was inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.Lexicon
