Description

Frank Stojack, who earned 13 varsity letters in five sports at Lincoln High School and went on to play football at Washington State, played 23 games as the right guard for the Brooklyn Dodgers of the National Football League in 1935-36. Stojack went on to a notable career in wrestling and public office. Utilizing his favorite move called the "Airplane Spin," Stojack won four Pacific Coast Junior Heavyweight championships. His biggest wrestling achievement was beating Gypsy Joe for the light heavyweight championship of the world on April 10, 1953, in Spokane. He held the title until November 1957. Stojack was elected to the Tacoma City Council and was voted Pierce County Sherriff, serving four years.
