Description

Artist/cartoonist Loren Lilly's portrait of champion pro wrestler Frank Stojack of Tacoma, the "crowd pleasing Tacoma matman!" The portrait shows Stojack's favorite wrestling tactics were the drop-kick and his famous "airplane spin." The caption says Stojack was an undefeated champion wrestler while at Washington State College (now Washington State University), and "recently won the Pacific Coast junior heavyweight mat crown." A drawing on the left side depicts Stojack wearing a crown with the words, "Just my size!" The bottom caption says Stojack was "ranked as one of the best guards ever to show on the coast, both college and pro" in football. The British Columbia native played for the Cougars, New York Giants and in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
