Tacoma pro wrestler Frank Stojack, bottom, executes his famous "airplane spin" move against an unnamed opponent.
Stojack used his airplane spin to win four Pacific Coast Junior Heavyweight championships and the National Wrestling Alliance world light heavyweight championship from 1953-57.
One of the first times Stojack executed the "airplane spin" was while he was a football player and wrestler at Washington State College. Stojack and Cougars line coach Arthur "Buck" Bailey had a difference of opinion, and coach Orin "Babe" Hollingbery suggested they settle it in the wrestling ring at Bohler Gymnasium.
Stojack used the airplane spin to beat Bailey.
