Description

Rod Medved, #45, a defensive back for the Philadelphia Eagles, was from Tacoma and played at Bellarmine Prep where he earned All-City honors. Medved was a three-time letter winner for the University of Washington as a running back/halfback from 1963-66. He was a member of the 1964 Pac-8 championship and Rose Bowl teams for the Huskies and was a team captain and Academic All-American in 1965. Medved was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles and made the switch to the defense where he played defensive back from 1966-70. Medved was inducted into the Pierce-County Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
