Members of the 1963-64 Washington Huskies football team from Tacoma pose for a photograph. The Huskies lost to the Illinois Fighting Illini, 17-7, in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 196 in Pasadena, Calif. The Huskies, under coach Jim Owens and captained by halfback Dave Kopay and lineman John Stupey, finished the season with a 6-5 record (after an 0-3 start), winning the Athletic Association of Western Universities championship. The Fighting Illini were led by center/linebacker Dick Butkus, a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
