Description

New York Cosmos defender Jeff Durgan smiles in a headshot for the team and was a standout high school player in Tacoma. Durgan, who graduated from Stadium High School in 1979, also played club ball for the Norpoint Royals. He earned North American Soccer League Rookie of the Year honors in 1980 with the Cosmos. Durgan played for the NASL team for two seasons and earned a spot on the U.S. National and Olympic teams. He finished his career with the Tacoma Stars of the MISL. Durgan was inducted into the Washington State Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. Photo donated by Jeff Durgan.
