Description

Gene Anderson, shown far right in this undated team photo of the Cheney Studs baseball team, served as founder and philanthropist Ben Cheney’s right-hand man. Anderson was general manager, business manager and secretary from 1955-1981. Anderson began his employment with Cheney at the Cheney Lumber Company in the late 1950s and unselfishly devoted his time to the Studs organization for more than 25 years. Anderson was an integral member of the Studs’ 1960 AABC National Championship team. The photograph was donated to this museum by Gene Anderson.
