In a golf exhibition held at Fircrest Golf Club in the 1960s, Walters played with Lee Trevino and Ken Still, two PGA legends. Walters golfed on the PGA for 35 years, from 1932 to 1967. He was considered to be the greatest left-handed golfer of his time. The Tacoma Golf Association has named its individual championship tournament the Jack Walters Champion of the Champions Tournament. Congdon, who was born in 1909, was the golf pro at the Tacoma Country and Golf club from 1935 to 1965. He also served as the vice president of the PGA of America from 1955 to 1957. Congdon was inducted into the State of Washington Sports Hall of Fame in 1978. In his best finishes on the PGA Tour, he played third in the PGA championship in 1944 and 12th in the U.S. Open in 1948.
