Pat Lesser Harbottle, standing on the left in this black-and-white photo, receives the Western Amateur Golf Tournament Trophy in 1955 from Eugene Lydon. In the 1950s, Lesser attended Seattle University and became the first female to play on the school's team. She ended up marrying one of her teammates, John Harbottle, who was also an outstanding amateur golfer from Tacoma. At age 14, Lesser won her first of two back-to-back Seattle women's city titles. In 1952, she won four major amateur titles, winning the Pacific Northwest, the Washington Amateur, the Oregon Amateur and the NCAA title. She was inducted into the PNBA Hall of Fame in 1985 and the State of Washington Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.
