From left, John Heinrick, Floyd "Lefty" Isekite and Dan Walton gather at a Tacoma Athletic Commission event. Heinrick was the football and basketball coach at the University of Puget Sound. Heinrick coached baseball from 1947-59 and compiled a 187-159 record. He coached the Loggers in football from 1948-64, compiling a record of 89-44-11. Isekite was a star left-handed pitcher in the 1930s. He received numerous honors while playing for the Tacoma Tigers of the Western International League from 1937-40, throwing a no-hitter in 1937 against the Wenatchee Chiefs. Isekite struck out 819 batters for the Tigers, leading the WIL in strikeouts from 1938-40. Walton spent 43 years with The Tribune Publishing Company, retiring as sports editor of The News Tribune in 1964.
