Description

Six people pose for an undated photograph at the Tacoma Athletic Commission banquet. Among those in the photo are Everett Jensen, Frank Stojack, Phil Sarboe and Orin (Babe) Hollingbery. Sarboe was a Lincoln High School graduate who went on to play for Washington State and played in the NFL for the Boston Redskins, Chicago Cardinals and Brooklyn Dodgers. He coached high school and college football in Washington and Hawaii, including stops at Lincoln High (1943-44) and Washington State (1945-49). Hollingbery was the football coach at State College of Washington (now known as Washington State University) from 1926-42, compiling a record of 93–53–14 (his 93 wins remain the most by a WSU football coach). Hollingbery was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1979. Stojack graduated from Lincoln High School and Washington State before playing two seasons with the NFL's Brooklyn Dodgers. Stojack became a four-time Pacific Coast Junior Heavyweight wrestling champion and was the light heavyweight champion of the world from 1953-57. Jensen was an active WSU booster from Tacoma.
