Description

This is a Louisville slugger baseball bat used by outfielder Lyman Bostock. Bostock played for the Triple-A Tacoma Twins in 1974-75. Bostock hit .333 with seven home runs and 56 RBIs in 128 games for the Tacoma Twins in 1974. He hit .391 in 22 games in 1975, prompting his promotion to the Minnesota Twins. Bostock finished fourth in the 1976 American League batting race, his first full season in the majors. Bostock hit .323 with four home runs and 60 RBIs in 128 games for the Minnesota Twins. Bostock hit .336 during the 1977 season, finishing second in the AL batting race behind teammate Rod Carew, who hit .388. After three seasons with Minnesota, he signed with the California Angels as a free agent in 1978. Bostock hit .296 with five home runs and 71 RBIs for the Angles that season. Bostock was shot and killed as he sat in a car in Gary, Indiana, after a game against the Chicago White Sox. The two trials for the shooter ended in a hung jury and the shooter being found bot guilty by reason of insanity.
