Players Tavern won this trophy when they won the 1966 Metro Park District slowpitch tournament. Players Tavern was one of the best slowpitch teams to play in Tacoma. But no Tacoma softball team dominated like the Heidelberg Beer slowpitch team. Between 1968 and 1997, the team compiled an impressive 1,368-44 record and they won 17 Washington regional and state titles. They also went 11 years without losing a Washington State Church A Tournament. As manager of Heidelberg Beer softball team, Steve Shackett was inducted into three All-World teams as manager. Dick Zierman, who donated this trophy, was a top notched player for the Players Tavern team and was named to 14 all-star teams as a player. He also coached and played recreation football and won five league championships. Zierman, who was a three-sport starter at Lincoln High School, also played on Western State's 1972's County League basketball championship team.Lexicon
