Mac Wilkins throws the discus during a competition in 1976. Mac Wilkins attended Clover Park High before moving to Beaverton, Oregon, to finish high school and then going on to become a Northwest sports legend. He won an NCAA discus title for the Oregon Ducks. He won gold at the 1976 Olympics, silver in 1984 and finished fifth in ‘88. Team USA boycotted the 1980 Olympics in the Soviet Union. He broke the world record four times in his career, with his best throw (70.98 meters) coming in 1980.
