Description

Rick Vaive’s 1991-92 Upper Deck trading card depicts the right winger skating on the front and also body-checking an opponent from Montreal on the back during his days as a Buffalo Sabres. Vaive, who played for Canada’s U20 team at the World Junior Championships in 1978, was drafted No. 5 overall by the Vancouver Canucks in 1979 and also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, Sabres. Vaive went into coaching after his playing career ended, winning an East Coast Hockey League championship with the South Carolina Stingrays in 1996-97.
