Description

Pat Verbeek, shown on his 1991-92 Upper Deck trading card, played left wing for the Hartford Whalers. Already in his ninth season as an established NHL All-Star (1991, 1996) at the time his card was released, Verbeek was drafted by the New Jersey Devlis in 1982 and played for the Devils for seven seasons before going to the Whalers, New York Rangers, Dallas Stars and Detroit Red Wings. Verbeek finished his career with 1,063 points and doubled that in penalty minutes as he picked up the nickname “The Little Ball of Hate.” Verbeek won a Stanley Cup championship with Dallas in 1998-1999.
