Description

Pat Galbraith, seen playing in the 1993 Wimbledon Championship, was a dominate high school tennis player for Bellarmine Prep from 1982-85 as he won three state 4A boys singles titles and leading the Lions to four Narrows League championships. Galbraith went on to earn a scholarship to UCLA where he was the doubles champion in 1988 and a then-Pac-10 singles winner in 1989. Galbraith didn’t quit there. He went on to a 12-year professional career in which he and his playing partners included Jim Courier, Wayne Ferreira and Rick Leach, won 36 ATP Tour doubles championships. Galbraith’s doubles team was ranked No. 1 in the world in 1993. He was ranked No. 1 individually among doubles players during the 1993 and 1994 seasons. Galbraith played on two U.S. Open mixed doubles championship teams and twice played in the Wimbledon doubles title match. It was with Connell that Galbraith played in the doubles final at Wimbledon in 1993 and 94 as runners-up. Photo donated by Pat Galbraith.
