Description

A native of Prague, Chezhoslovakia (now Czech Republic), David Volek played six seasons in the NHL after getting drafted by the New York Islanders in the 10th round. Volek, pictured on his 1991-92 Upper Deck trading card, may be best remembered for his thrilling overtime goal during the 1993 NHL playoffs. Volek’s goal eliminated the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 7.
