Photo collage of the 1947 Pacific Lutheran College's Gladiators basketball team. The school's nickname, the Gladiators, was replaced by the Knights and later gave way to the current Lutes. In this picture from clockwise top right players in the photo are: Ted Kauth, Clay Huntington, Morris, Ernie Perrault, Willis McLaughlin, Robert Bischoff, Gundy Gunderson, Howard Willis, Ed Gamm, Marv Harshman, Burt Backman, Eddie Dorthy, Harry McLaughlin. Harshman went on to coach football and basketball at PLC, launching a career that made him one of the premier coaches in the county as he coached at Washington State University and the University of Washington. Harshman has been inducted into PLU's athletic hall of fame.
