Description

Brian Bellows entered the NHL as a fresh-faced 18-year-old rookie — scoring 35 goals. He was drafted No. 2 overall in the 1982 NHL Draft by the Minnesota North Stars, as shown in his 1990-91 Topps Stadium Club trading card. The right winger from St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, was a star from the get-go and played for Minnesota for 10 seasons before being traded to Montreal for the 1992-93 season. It was with the Canadiens that Bellows won a Stanley Cup that same year, notching 48 assists, 40 goals and 88 points. Bellows’ best season came in 1989-90 when he notched 99 points (555 goals) and was voted to the NHL Second All-Star team. He played in three All-Star Games (1984, ’88, ’92). Upon his retirement, Bellows had reached the 1,000-point career mark (1,022) in 1,188 games as well as 122 points in 143 playoff games.
